Do applications written in GNAVI become GPL Licensed applications?

Absolutely, NOT! Even though GNAVI is under the GPL, there is an exception clause added to all the GNAVI frameworks that permit you to include their use in your applications with out your applications falling under the GPL. This does not mean that the frameworks are now under your copyright or are no longer under the GPL. Changes you make to the frameworks themselves need to be made available under the same license terms if the changes are distributed in any form as per the GPL.
